The Facial Rejuvenation Program & Traditional Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a proven and widely used medical system based on ancient theories of balance and harmony. The Facial Rejuvenation Program (FRP) uses the acupuncture, acupressure, herbology and self-care of TCM to aid beauty and reduce the signs of aging.

Facial Rejuvenation TCM Acupuncture

Facial Rejuvenation TCM Acupuncture is the primary – and most effective – part of the treatment in the FRP program. It is a non-surgical way of reducing the signs of the aging process. The treatment, which is painless, is based in TCM and involves the insertion of hair-thin needles into select areas of your face, ears, neck, hands, torso and legs, along meridians of energy the Chinese call Qi (pronounced chee). Thousands of years ago, the Chinese discovered that many meridians either begin or end on the face while some have internal branches that go to the face. So, TCM practitioners of Facial Rejuvenation TCM Acupuncture specifically affect the face and – at the same time – treat what contributes to your aging process. Each treatment is tailored to what you need – we choose the specific points that work best for you and regulate the Qi in your body to impact your individual aging process. It goes beyond cosmetic procedures. It rejuvenates, revitalizes, refreshes and helps your whole body look and feel younger.

The positive effects

With Facial Rejuvenation TCM Acupuncture you may see as many as five to fifteen years taken off your face – with visible results after just a few treatments. Imagine…possibly eliminating fine lines…lessening deep wrinkles...reducing bags under your eyes…firming the skin under your chin…getting rid of puffiness…lifting droopy eyelids…and minimizing that double chin.

Other likely results may include: increased skin moisturization due to increased circulation to the face; increased collagen production, muscle tone, and dermal contraction; tightened pores; brighter eyes; improved hormonal balance (good for acne); and reduced signs of how stress shows on your face. Essentially, we give you an opportunity to enhance and bring back your innate beauty and radiance.

Who can benefit?

If you’re concerned with looking and feeling young and slowing down the aging process – this treatment is for you. Deep wrinkles, fine lines, bags under the eyes, sagging, puffiness, drooping eyelids, double chins, large pores, dry skin or acne…all of these aspects of aging can be addressed with Facial Rejuvenation TCM Acupuncture. No two patients are treated alike – the process is tailored to your specific aging challenges. For example, if you have excess puffiness you would receive a different treatment than someone with dry skin. Your whole person is treated and evaluated on the body-mind continuum that TCM is based on.

The treatment

FRP is made up of 12 treatments. We tend to see results become more noticeable and lasting around the seventh session. Of course, each person responds differently, depending on his or her condition and lifestyle prior to treatment. Following the initial course of treatment, we suggest maintenance sessions to help prolong the results for up to 2 to 5 years. To extend the program’s benefits, we also recommend you supplement FRP with facial self-massage and/or acupressure, herbal supplements, a healthy diet and exercise.

The difference TCM Acupuncture makes

For thousands of years, TCM acupuncture has been used successfully to treat a wide variety of conditions. The use of acupuncture in preventing and reducing wrinkles has already created positive attention in Japan, Hong Kong and Sweden. A 1996 report in the International Journal of Clinical Acupuncture reported that among 300 cases treated with Facial Acupuncture, 90 per cent had noticeable effects with one treatment. The effects included: the skin becoming delicate and fair, improvement of the elasticity of facial muscles, leveling of wrinkles, a ruddier complexion and an overall rejuvenation that extended beyond the face.

New trend? Not at all.

As early as the Sung Dynasty (960AD-1270AD) acupuncture rejuvenation practices were employed for the Empress and the Emperor's concubines. For thousands of years, the Chinese have known that beauty comes from the inside. So, they discovered and utilized ways to harmonize the Qi flow within the body to initiate the healing process for rejuvenation. Even if you’re unfamiliar with the principles of TCM, it is known that increased circulation helps the body look and feel better. And that’s what TCM acupuncture does – it stimulates and regulates the Qi in the body and thus increases the circulation. Helping you look and feel better.

TCM herbology

Herbs are now being rediscovered for the incredible benefits they give for so many conditions. (And we say rediscovered because herbs were the original source of medicine for thousands of years.) TCM has always been used for the purpose of longevity and beauty – and adding herbology to that only strengthens the treatment for you. We will choose the best TCM herbal formulas for your specific constitution and needs. Feel free to talk with us about what combination will work best for you.
